- Kansas legislators override three of governor’s vetoes to pass pro-life billsThree pro-life bills have been passed in Kansas, after the state House of Representatives voted to override the governor’s vetoes. Governor Laura Kelly vetoed House Bill 2313, House Bill 2325, and House Bill 2264. These bills, respectively, require medical care for abortion survivors, ban abortionists from buying liability insurance from a state fund, and require abortionists to give women information on abortion pill reversal. Jeanne Gawdun of Kansans for Life told ABC News that lawmakers “stood together for compassion and basic human decency.” Rep. Clarke Sanders said that the bill on abortion pill reversal is an issue of informed consent. “What I hear over and over and over and over from those of us who are not pro life, I hear, ‘Trust women. Trust women,’” he told the Kansas Reflector. “Do you really believe that? If you really believe ‘trust women,’ you’re going to vote to override this veto. Women… Read more »

- Pro-Life States Will File Lawsuit Against Joe Biden’s Illegal Plan to Turn VA Hospitals Into Abortion ClinicsPro-Life states are gearing up for a lawsuit against the Biden administration after Joe Biden finalized a plan to turn VA hospitals into abortion clinics. The Department of Veterans Affairs said it plans to kill babies in abortions in cases of rape or incest or in cases where the mother’s life or health is in danger, even though doctors repeatedly say abortions are never medically necessary. But, states like Alabama and Arkansas will likely be leading the way in defending their abortion bans from the federal government usurping them by authorizing VA hospitals to sell dangerous abortion drugs or do surgical abortions ending the lives of unborn children. Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall said last week he would enforce his state’s abortion ban, which outlaws all abortions except in cases that threaten the life of the pregnant person, against any practitioner who violates it. “I have no intention of abdicating… Read more »

- A pro-life amendment lost in the Kansas primary – but what does it really mean?Last night, voters in Kansas rejected the Value Them Both amendment which would have affirmed there is no right to abortion in the state constitution. It would not have banned abortions in Kansas, but would have allowed legislators to enact protections for preborn children in the state. Previously, the Kansas Supreme Court deemed abortion to be a right in the state constitution, making abortion protected by law despite the fall of Roe v. Wade. The question is, does this mean there is little support for the pro-life movement in Kansas? The abortion industry has been quick to celebrate the failure of the life-affirming amendment, claiming it shows that Americans do not support the fall of Roe. Some pro-life experts, however, disagree. Confusion on messaging At National Review, Alexandra DeSanctis noted the confusion surrounding what the amendment would actually do. “As I noted in a piece on the ballot initiative last… Read more »
