The Supreme Court of the United States overturned Roe v Wade on June 24, 2022. This decision turned abortion rights back to the states. Roughly half of the states allow abortion, and half have protective laws in place.

This map provides an overview of abortion laws in each state. States such as California, New York, Colorado, New Mexico, New Jersey, Oregon, Washington DC, and Vermont have unprotective abortion laws (or laws pending) up until time of birth of the baby (9 months/40 weeks), and some states have laws pending that will allow abortion of a full-term baby.

(Note that some states may change laws and this map may not reflect rulings in real-time. It is recommended that a woman seeking an abortion in a state that limits/restricts abortions speak with her medical doctor and seek at least a second opinion before making a final decision or traveling to another state for a surgical or chemical (pill) abortion.)
